Pandupole Hanuman Temple
Deep inside the reserve lies the ancient temple linked to the Mahabharata's Matsya Kingdom. Myth tells of Bhima shattering the mountain wall here to form a gateway spring gorge. Highly popular on Tuesdays and Saturdays when private vehicles are permitted tracks.
The Haunted Fort of Bhangarh
Bhangarh is a globally famous village renowned for its 17th-century historical ruins, pristine temples, and royal palace. Pre-dating the town of Jaipur, its magnificent remains at the base of the Aravalli hills are shrouded in haunting local lore and architectural mysteries.
A Fort Inside The Jungle (Kankwari Fort)
The isolated, magnificent fort of Kankwari stands deep inside the sanctuary barriers, witness to the historic war of succession between the sons of Shah Jahan. Prince Dara Shikoh was imprisoned here by his brother Aurangzeb, surrounded by rolling hills and boulders.
The Historical Siliserh Lake
Established in 1845 by Maharaja Viney Singh, this beautiful 10 sq. km lake spreads along the national park border. It features historical chhatris, an iconic erstwhile summer hunting palace on its banks, pristine boat rides, and sightings of local crocodiles.
Ancient City of Viratnagar
Steeped in history dating back to the 3rd Century BC, Viratnagar hosted the Pandavas during their exile in the Matsya Kingdom. It contains unique Mauryan rock edicts of Emperor Ashoka, ancient Buddhist monastery ruins, and natural rock caves called Bhim ki Dungri.
Bijak Ki Pahadi
Hidden within the rugged folds of the Aravalli hills, Bijak Ki Pahadi is one of Sariska's lesser-known natural and historical treasures.
